Palos Verdes hand painted cuerda seca tile — a lush, green-toned design from our San Luis Obispo (SLO) collection that evokes the coastal gardens and Mediterranean landscapes of its California namesake. The cuerda seca technique creates raised ridges between each glaze color, producing the distinctive three-dimensional texture that defines authentic Malibu style tilework.
Each tile is individually hand crafted using the traditional cuerda seca method, where molten wax separates glaze colors before firing. The Palos Verdes' verdant palette brings a refreshing, organic quality to kitchen backsplashes, bathroom feature walls, outdoor courtyard installations, and garden fountain surrounds where a connection to nature is desired.
Available in 2", 4.25", and 6" sizes. Every tile is handmade and unique. All handmade Mexican products are rustic in nature and subject to variation in shape, size, and color.
