Collection: Hervido

The Hervido collection represents Place of Clay’s signature line of hand glazed terracotta tiles. The name “Hervido” — Spanish for “boiled” — refers to the distinctive bubbling, organic surface texture created when our artisans apply molten glaze to raw terracotta by hand. The result is a tile with extraordinary depth, movement, and color variation that rivals the most expensive artisan tiles on the market.

Each Hervido tile begins as hand-formed terracotta clay, then receives multiple layers of hand-applied glaze that interact during firing to produce rich, unpredictable color blending. Our palette ranges from the deep midnight blues of Noche Azul to the iridescent peacock tones of Pavoreal, with earth-toned options like Moca Mármol and nature-inspired Liquen.

Available in subway, fish scale, and field tile formats, the Hervido line offers design flexibility for everything from bold kitchen backsplashes to luxurious shower walls. These tiles compete directly with premium artisan brands at a fraction of the cost, delivering the handcrafted quality and visual impact that distinguish truly exceptional interiors.

Please note due to the size and weight of these tiles, all orders will be shipped via freight. We try to offer a selection of freight shipping prices at checkout, however you are more than welcome to contact us directly to see if we can find a better rate for you.
