Capitola hand painted cuerda seca tile — an enchanting coastal-inspired design from our San Luis Obispo (SLO) collection, evoking the colorful charm of the California seaside town that shares its name. Vibrant hues and dynamic composition make Capitola a spirited focal point in any installation. Part of our SLO collection, this tile features the distinctive raised ridges and three-dimensional texture created by the traditional cuerda seca glazing method.
Each tile is individually hand crafted using the cuerda seca technique, where molten wax separates glaze colors before firing. The result is a tactile surface with an interplay of matte and glossy finishes that defines authentic Malibu style tilework. Capitola shines as a kitchen backsplash showstopper, a bathroom feature wall accent, or grouped with complementary SLO patterns to create a lively, personalized design scheme.
Available in 2", 4.25", and 6" sizes. Every tile is handmade and unique. All handmade Mexican products are rustic in nature and subject to variation in shape, size, and color.
